I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

The journey from London to Bali was long but I would do it twice over to stay here. As soon as we arrived at Nandini I melted. The calm atmosphere and friendly greeting was everything my boyfriend and I needed.

We were shown around the grounds and what a stunning picturesque location! My boyfriend picked this hotel as our first location in Bali and I can assure you it got him major brownie points!

Everything was perfect about this hotel. From the natural lake at the bottom of the gorge to the adorable wooden gondola and the exquisite food in the restaurant.

The rooms set along the cliff were beautiful, the jungle sounds at night were magical! You get a complementary foot massage with your stay and I can assure you they take all of the stress of daily life out of you!

As you can tell this hotel was incredible but Iwan, the hotel manager was also an absolute dream !! The owners of this hotel should be extremely grateful they have him. HE made our stay the little more extra special!!! He couldn’t have done anymore for us. He helped us plan and book how to get to the Gilli Islands and also recommend good hotels!!!! Mala Gardens Resort being one of them which his sister manages, also an absolute delight.

Nandini Jungle Resort is an extra special destination and Iwan made it even more so!

Really nice room, great food and best service ever! We enjoyed every second of this visit and recommend it to people that want to have an experience out of the ordinary. The area is a little bit off but if you want some time away from everything, just explore nature and pay the little extra for luxury this is the right place for you to be on your vacation!

Located deep within the island, this place has truly different feel in it. The property itself is beautiful with small cottages from uphill all the way down close to the river among the lush green rain forest. The is a cable car halfway down, but to get to the river, we need to walk at least 200 steps down. Quiet and peaceful with only nature sounds.
The cottages or villas are spacious, clean and pleasant with wooden interior, a 4-star facilities. There is a luxurious marble bathroom, TV, air conditioner and a small balcony. A large infinity pool viewing the forest and an outdoor Jacuzzi with warm water are free to use for the hotel guests. We can even use the amazing infinity pool from the more expensive sister hotel - the hanging garden; which is only 5 minutes ride from nandini. Service was excellent. There was a welcome drink, free 15 minutes foot massage when we arrive at the hotel and free -whatever you want- breakfast, from continental, British, American to traditional menu to choose from which you could barely finish.
We took spa by the river and it was excellent. Skilled masseuses, outdoor, fresh air, with the sound of water flowing, followed by bath with naturally flowing water, and then complemented with warm ginger tea. A perfect end for our visit in Bali.

This resort is truly amazing in many ways. The service staff are genuinely friendly and will try their very best to have all your queries answered! The resort itself is beautiful and the views are panoramic. My wife and I were in room 7 and the view of the forest was gorgeous.

Our room was very clean. There were a few insects, but this is to be expected as it is part of the jungle, and to me, this adds to the beauty of the resort. We were woken up daily by the rays of the sun in our room and this started our mornings superbly.

The food available at the resort is good and the prices are reasonable tourist prices.

The 2 minus points for me was the fact that there’s a US $15 surcharge if you want breakfast delivered to your room and also, we had some trouble understanding the spa receptionist and vice versa.

Overall to me, this is the best place I’ve stayed at in Ubud. Do not hesitate about booking your stay here, especially if you love nature and privacy!

Firstly, the property is beautiful. We’ve experienced many a resort and massage, but nothing has come close to our massage at river. No music from a iPod necessary here, as nature in the form of birds, flowing river water etc provides the perfect soundtrack for your bliss-ening pleasure:-) I fell into the deepest most relaxing sleep of my life (you know the kind where you forget where you are?) and woke up in this dreamland paradise imbedded in this lush Bali jungle and the lovely smiles of their incredible masseuses. To look over and see my goddess glowing, made the trip in itself.

We then went up to restaurant where they had prepared the most excellent vegetarian meal for us, coupled with amazing juices. Rodrigo was the most amazing host and Iwan the manager was awesome too. This trip to Nandini was primarily for the spa, but the rooms look amazing too. Next time for certain. We felt like family by the time we left and they will surely see us again soon! THANK YOU

Thank you so much to the incredible Iwan our concierge and the staff who stood behind the guarantee “anything is possible”. The rooms themselves were incredible, perched in the Ubud rain-forest with uninterrupted views. There was some construction going on to the room during our stay so a bit of noise and dust, however the sounds of the rain-forest overpowered all that! The onsite restaurant is ‘OK’ and convenient if you want to stay at the resort but it is overpriced, considering so many better options in town. For anyone with no set plans and an open mind when they arrive - simply ask the staff for ideas. Iwan was full of fantastic and very helpful suggestions and goes above and beyond to ensure each guest is comfortable and looked after. He is brilliant!

Word of warning - although there is a gondola to take you from the bottom of the resort up, it finishes a fair way below reception and a reasonable level of fitness is needed for the many stairs needed to climb up and down. Certainly not a difficult climb and a good excuse to get a bit of exercise in, but something to consider. This is 90% a couples or honeymooners resort also so a perfect romantic getaway with all the trimmings available - cooking classes, dinner and massages by the waterfall and so much more!
There’s also 3 x daily shuttles in and out of town to save taxi commutes back and forth. A must stay if you and the partner are looking for the perfect quiet escape while in Ubud, away from the hustle and bustle!

…is the mantra of the hotel manager Iwan. And he and his team certainly went above and beyond - from coming to find us when we were lost; changing money for us, so we didn’t need to leave the hotel; donating a lighter when we only asked to just use it; to organizing us a honeymoon reception at a local restaurant (even though it wasn’t our honeymoon!), nothing was too much trouble. The kindness and friendliness of the staff was second to none! I would really recommend it.

The only reason I didn’t give it 5* was because the breakfasts weren’t great and although dinners and lunches were not bad, they were very expensive for me.

But the setting is lovely and the spa by the river not to be missed!
